Disadvantages of Social Media

Apologies for my absence for so long. I’m finally back with something new once again. As we all know Social networks have a big part in the book of internet. Social media encourage your communication with friends, promote new acquaintances and facilitate the access to information scattered on the Internet by collecting it in one place.

Social networks are undeniably convenient and practical. Am I asking you to get rid of the use of social media completely? No. I simply need you to think about the outcomes of uncontrolled dedication to social media and to know how to prevent these consequences.

 

So What Harmful Consequences Can Be Caused By Social Networking?

There are various upsetting impacts related to social networking, which i want to point out to you.

Addiction

I think it is not a mystery that online networking can cause severe addiction. Addiction occurs because of the activities that take place on social media which leads the censors in your brain to stimulate. for example, when people click the “like” button on facebook or any other social networking sites, or reply to your comments or make comments on your photo it encourages to visit these sites regularly.

Lack of Attention Span 

A long time spent on social network activities can cause deterioration of attention and concentration.

while communicating using social media, people constantly switch tasks from reading comments, to viewing videos, checking updates or even replying back to text messages. During such activity, people’s attention dwells on one thing not very long and constantly switches to another one. It also forms a certain habit of learning information. You get used to receive information in small portions, constantly switching from one type of information to another, for example, from replying to a comment to some video viewing.

This habit creates difficulties in attention concentration. It is more difficult to hold your attention on one thing for long. For example, a person, who is used to communicate using social networks, will experience some discomfort while reading a book. Because there will be no constant pop out on the right of the book page telling that “you have received a new message” or “someone has clicked the “Like” button on your photo/comment.”

Stress and Fatigue

Constant switching from one task to another, which can occur during the work with social media, strongly tires your brain. The brain gets tired of the information abundance, especially if this information is received chaotically, in small portions, but rather quickly.

The brain takes time and quiet to “digest” the received data and to process the information. But instead of this, many people continue to stuff it with new information from social networks or Internet, keeping away from some rest.

Tips on how to prevent harm 

As I said at the beginning, social networking is not only evil. It is also very convenient: it helps you communicate, share information, find old friends, keep abreast of the events.You should bind the sack before it becomes full. The same can be applied to the social media pastime.

Making small changes can help in many ways. such as limiting your time on social media. visit facebook, twitter etc three times a day and let your brain relax for some time. Instead you should try to make friends and communicate in the real world. Its not that I dont use any social media. I use social networking sites on a daily basis. But as I am guiding everyone else, I am guiding myself at the same time.

Is life really unfair?

Our idea of fairness isn’t actually obtainable. It’s really just a coat for wishful thinking.

Wouldn’t life be insane if life was actually ‘fair’ to everyone? People will stop loving the love of their life, just because they are too scared of breaking a heart. Relationships would come to an end with both lovers dying at once. Raindrops would not fall on all the good people, raindrops would only fall on the bad people. Now that is unfair.

Most of us don’t see how the world works, in fact we are all busy looking at how the world should work. But reality is never what we want it to be like.

Have you ever looked at someone and wished you were like them? I have!! But why? You are unique in your own way. We often think its not fair that they are better than me but maybe you have a talent that they don’t. so whos better now?

We need to learn to love ourselves and keep your head up high. Life isn’t fair but its not unfair either. We make it unfair ourselves

Exam Stress and Exam Preparation

Hello my angels.

This post is all about exams and exam pressure which we all have gone through at some point in our  lifetime.

Some students can be comfortable with exams and they put their head down to study and revise, however other people can find exams a complete nightmare.

To overcome exam stress, you first need to know the reason behind the anxiety. Some students are very bright but there are many factors that can bring their levels down. This includes:

  • Not enough motivation
  • Not enough revision and planning
  • Pressure from friends and family/ High expectations
  • Competition from friends and class mates.

There are so many different ways to overcome stress and I will be mentioning a few below.

  1. Get enough sleep!!!!!

Sleep is so so soooooo important. Not having enough sleep can lead to tiredness and anxiety. Most importantly, a good nights sleep can help your brain to transfer the new knowledge into the long-term memory so that you can remember it when it comes to exam day

  1. Take notes.

Take as many notes as you can during your class. Our memory isn’t strong enough to memorize everything that is said in class. You can review your notes at any time when you start to feel exam stress, this way you will remember what was said in class and there you go you are one step ahead of the rest.

  1. Give yourself rewards regularly

Reward your study time. You deserve it. This will motivate you and bring your stress level down. For instance, after studying hard for an hour, take a break and play on the internet for 20 minutes or watch an episode of a TV show that you enjoy. This will help you get your mind off the exam while acting as a motivational carrot that may help you pick up studying again after your break.

  1. take it easy and don’t rush!

Take your time going through the exam paper. It may just be that one particular question your stuck on. Rather than wasting your time on one question, skip the question and return back at the end if you have time remaining.

  1. Hydrate

Not drinking enough water can affect how well you brain functions. Make sure to drink water before your exam. If you have permission to take a water bottle with you to your exam then do so. I’m so sure you will need water during your exam!

After a lot of planning and struggles I have finally managed to launch my blog for all of you guys.

Why did I start a blog?

Starting a blog requires no prior knowledge but at the same time it can be a real challenge.  Also it will help me acquire new valuable skills and I will have so much to learn and share the knowledge I have with you all.
